Creating a sense of place

The rooftop pool at the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport had everything guests could ask for: craft cocktails, sweeping city views, and an upscale atmosphere. But one thing was missing. A massive blank wall overlooked the space, leaving a missed opportunity to create something memorable and unmistakably Boston.

The goal wasn’t simply to add color. The mural needed to capture the identity of the Seaport itself. I spent time understanding the hotel’s vision, the neighborhood’s history, and the energy that defines the area today. The final design blends Boston’s maritime heritage with its modern nightlife, weaving together historic ships, local landmarks, music, and the vibrant culture that has transformed the Seaport into one of the city’s most recognizable destinations.

Rather than decorating the space, the mural gives guests a stronger sense of place. It turns an empty wall into a visual landmark that reflects the neighborhood’s character and creates a backdrop people naturally want to photograph and share.
